WTNL Chapter 496

Thank you @Jill for the Kofi.

Yuying University
Chapter 496: I told you a long time ago, you boy, don’t offend the NPC so thoroughly!

After leaving that sentence, Chen Cheng turned and left.

Watching his back, Wen Jianyan revealed a thoughtful expression.

Although he didn’t know why the other party had voluntarily provided the clue, he didn’t think Chen Cheng was lying.

Wen Jianyan lowered his eyes, looking at the desk not far away.

—In that case, I might as well give it a try.

With that thought, Wen Jianyan walked forward. He picked up the fountain pen placed next to the paper and examined it.

The style seemed a bit familiar.

The pen held by the female teacher in red when he was handling the matriculation procedures before seemed to be just like this one.

Wen Jianyan collected his thoughts, bent down, and signed his name on the paper.

Red ink seeped from the metal nib, quickly bleeding into the texture of the paper.

The next second, a chill spread from his fingertips, as if his body’s temperature was being rapidly absorbed and carried away by the surface he was touching.

“…Ugh!”

Wen Jianyan couldn’t help but let out a muffled groan, his body even swaying slightly.

—It seemed that finding a supervisor for his graduation thesis was not without a price.

He gritted his teeth, forcing himself to move his fingers and slowly sign his name.

The striking, crimson ink stayed on the paper’s surface for a few seconds, then, as if absorbed by some invisible force, it slowly seeped into the paper’s texture and finally disappeared completely.

Staring at the once-again blank paper, Wen Jianyan blinked.

Hm… that’s it? It was successful?

He uncertainly placed the pen back in its original spot, raised his head, and prepared to confirm again.

However, just as Wen Jianyan looked up, he shuddered violently, and a layer of cold sweat instantly broke out on his back.

In front of the previously empty desk, a dark figure had appeared at some point.

On a deathly pale face, the corners of the mouth were pulled high, staring at him without blinking.

It just stood there, straight and motionless, appearing without any warning. It was impossible to know how long it had been standing there watching. The sudden sight was enough to make one’s hair stand on end.

Wen Jianyan took a fearful step back but quickly stopped himself.

He recognized the other party as the substitute teacher who taught their film appreciation class.

If he remembered correctly…

His surname should be Sun.

However, although the other party still had the same face, he looked vastly different from when he was in the classroom before.

The already bluish-white face had become even more purple, the corners of his mouth pulled high, almost reaching behind his ears. The pupils were almost invisible deep within the eyes covered by a white film.

Looking at that grotesque face, Wen Jianyan felt a chill run down his spine.

If the other party had only been a slightly strange ordinary person in the classroom before, he now had no connection to humanity and was more like a ghost.

He swallowed and said cautiously, “Hello, teacher?”

“…”

Teacher Sun was still smiling, staring at him with those white, pupil-less eyes, which was unsettling enough to make one’s hair stand on end. Just before Wen Jianyan’s mental defenses reached their limit, he finally moved.

He slowly raised a bluish-white finger and pointed to the edge of the desk.

Wen Jianyan followed the other’s finger.

On the previously empty desktop, a blank piece of paper had appeared again at some point, with something seemingly written on it.

“…”

Wen Jianyan paused, then boldly stepped forward, reached out, and picked up the paper.

At the very top of the paper were several neat lines of text.

【Graduation Thesis Report Card】

Name: Wen Jianyan

Student ID: 180039

Supervisor: Teacher Sun

Below that was a line of small print:

【Welcome, student, to the Film Appreciation course. Please complete the graduation thesis according to the supervisor’s requirements. The quality of this thesis is crucial to whether you can successfully graduate from this university. Please treat it with the utmost seriousness.
Next, please select one of the four films on the desk as your topic. Viewing it three times will grant you the film’s original version.

  1. Please complete the thesis content based on the original version of the film.
  2. The completed thesis will be graded by the supervisor. A score above 60 is a pass.】

Below the few lines of text was a large blank space, which was obviously for him to complete his thesis.

Wen Jianyan stared at the paper in his hand, raising an eyebrow in some surprise.

This time, the rules for the graduation thesis were quite clear.

Unlike what he had imagined, the instance was finally being a decent person this time, not making them figure out the rules from scratch again.

However, he could only choose one movie?

Wen Jianyan looked up at the four cassette tapes placed on the desk in front of him.

The black tapes were neatly arranged side by side on the shelf, with their respective movie titles written on the tape on their sides.

In terms of completion difficulty, “Brave Richard” and “A Day in the Life of Wang Ni” were definitely the lowest. After all, Wen Jianyan had already memorized the plots of these two movies. Whether it was the scenes where danger occurred, the monsters that might be encountered, or even the original plot that could only be unlocked after watching it three times, Wen Jianyan had already guessed most of it.

It could be said that these two were very safe options.

As for the other two…

Wen Jianyan’s gaze fell on the two tapes at the back.

“First Love: Our Eternal Love”

“Thank You, Teacher”

Wen Jianyan hadn’t watched either of these two movies even once. But the difference was, with “Brave Richard” and “A Day in the Life of Wang Ni” as a foundation, the general plot of “First Love: Our Eternal Love” was actually not that hard to guess.

“…”

Wen Jianyan took a deep breath, closed his eyes, as if making up his mind about something.

Soon, he opened his eyes and reached for the shelf.

And then—

He pulled out the very last tape.

This time, as his fingers approached the tape, he did not feel the intense coldness as before. Wen Jianyan smoothly pulled out the tape and held it in his hand.

Wen Jianyan looked down, observing the tape in his hand.

“Thank You, Teacher.”

This was a movie he knew nothing about, with no clue as to its plot.

But it was precisely for this reason that he had to choose it.

Ever since the instance exploration rate was pushed to 85%, it had not moved for a long time. This meant that there was still a very important blank piece missing from his puzzle. Without completing it, it would be very difficult to truly touch the core of this instance.

Although this meant Wen Jianyan was completely ignorant of the dangers he might encounter next, it didn’t mean he wasn’t confident.

One had to know, he was still holding the title of “Club President.”

Of course, this title was deadly, like a Sword of Damocles hanging over his head, ready to fall at any moment. But at the same time, it also brought Wen Jianyan a convenience that other anchors could hardly imagine.

He could use his low-SAN perspective while suppressing the negative states produced by a low SAN value. He could enter places that ordinary anchors could not, and he had great privileges.

Any existence with a lower status than him could not punish him, not even the Student Union.

Under this premise, Wen Jianyan did have the confidence to choose this movie.

In the “Integrity First” live room:

“Tsk tsk tsk, now that the anchor has an identity, his courage is also rising with the tide.”

“Of course, which other anchor in this instance has his convenient conditions? Anyone in his shoes would be just as reckless, okay!”

“Hahahahahaha damn, the anchor is so awesome. This is like using a death notice as a protective talisman.”

Wen Jianyan took a deep breath, put the tape in his pocket, and looked down to pick up the 【Graduation Thesis Report Card】 from the desk.

At some point, a line of blood-red small print had clearly appeared in the corner of the report card.

【Thesis Topic: “Thank You, Teacher”】

It seemed that the moment he took out the tape, it was equivalent to having made his choice, and it could no longer be retracted.

And in the blank space, three questions had appeared.

【1. What kind of story does “Thank You, Teacher” tell? (20 points)】

【2. In the film, why does the protagonist express gratitude to the teacher? (20 points)】

【3. Please write your thoughts after watching. (60 points)】

After a quick scan of the three questions, Wen Jianyan already had an idea of what the so-called ‘Graduation Thesis’ was about.

He needed to endure three viewings of the movie, obtain the original plot of the movie, answer the three questions, and then the “supervisor” would grade these three questions. If the score was over 60, his graduation thesis would be considered a pass. Mission complete.

Overall, the rules were not complicated.

Just as Wen Jianyan was about to put the report card away, suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he caught a few more words that had appeared on the paper without any warning.

“…?”

Wen Jianyan froze, his movement stopping.

He subconsciously looked towards the extra few words.

Behind “Please write your thoughts after watching,” a large, scrawled number had appeared. The font was scarlet, piercing straight to the bottom of his eyes.

【19 points】

19 points? What does that mean?

Wen Jianyan stared at the score that had appeared on the paper without any warning, his fingertips growing colder.

Wait a minute, he hadn’t even started completing the thesis yet, had he? Why…

Suddenly, he seemed to realize something. His pupils shrank abruptly, and he looked up, stunned, at the figure standing in front of the desk.

Teacher Sun was still standing ramrod straight. On his bluish-white face, his pupil-less eyes stared at him fixedly. He didn’t know if it was an illusion… the upward curve of his mouth seemed to have become even wider, almost tearing the entire lower half of his face.

Cold, terrifying, and filled with unrestrained malice.

In the “Integrity First” live room:

[?]

[?????]

[Ahhhhhhh, holy shit, it was this Teacher Sun who did it, ahhhh!]

[The first two questions are objective, he probably doesn’t have the authority to grade them, but the last question is subjective and relies on the supervisor’s grading… He probably hates the anchor to death. The anchor hasn’t even started answering, and he’s already given a score.]

[And this score is really disgusting, 19 points. This means that even if the anchor answers the first two objective questions perfectly, without losing a single point, his final score will still be 59… still a fail!!]

[That’s just cruel. This Teacher Sun really wants the anchor to die.]

Under Wen Jianyan’s gaze, Teacher Sun’s grotesquely smiling face gradually faded, becoming paler and lighter. Finally, his entire figure disappeared from before the desk, as if he had never been there.

“…”

Wen Jianyan stared in the direction where the other had disappeared, his expression listless.

This was somewhat terrible.

If he had known that the relationship with the substitute teacher would affect his graduation grade, he would have restrained himself a bit more before.

He made a pained face and stuffed the report card into his pocket.

Actually, if he thought about it carefully, it wasn’t like he deliberately tried to offend people every time. It was just that for some reason, things always progressed to that point… He felt he was very innocent too!

In the “Integrity First” live room:

[Tsk tsk tsk, you regret it now, huh?]

[The anchor’s expression is truly priceless, so funny.]

[But I’m really curious, now that things have come to this, is it still possible for the anchor to turn things around?]

[Based on common sense, no. But based on the anchor’s past record… it’s hard to say.]

While the viewers in the live stream room were discussing and guessing how this situation could possibly be resolved, Wen Jianyan seemed to have already pulled himself out of his recent feeling of frustration.

He looked up and glanced around.

Suddenly, his eyes lit up slightly, as if he had finally caught his target.

In the “Integrity First” live room:

[That look in the anchor’s eyes??]

[Something’s not right, what is he planning to do?]

Wen Jianyan put on a friendly smile and waved to a anchor not far away:

“Come, come, come.”

Suo Suo, who was standing not far away, struggling with which course to choose but happened to meet Wen Jianyan’s gaze: “…”

Was it an illusion, or did he have a bad feeling about this…?

Even though he felt uneasy, the situation was stronger than him. Suo Suo still braced himself and walked over, coming to Wen Jianyan’s side:

“Uh, big shot, what do you need me for?”

Wen Jianyan casually draped an arm over his shoulder.

He turned his head and said with a grin, “If I remember correctly… the first time we met was in the film appreciation class, during ‘A Day in the Life of Wang Ni,’ right?”

Suo Suo: “…”

I couldn’t forget it even if I wanted to.

He gave a dry laugh and nodded, “Haha, yes, yes.”

The smile on Wen Jianyan’s face grew wider. He pointed to the desk in front of him: “In that case, you wouldn’t mind choosing this course to write your thesis, would you?”

Suo Suo: “…………I don’t mind.”

Did he dare to mind?!

On one hand, he was wary of Wen Jianyan’s current, rather terrifying special identity. On the other hand, he also coveted the other’s power and ability—he certainly remembered that the other had chosen the same ‘Film Appreciation’ course as him. Because of this, it was no wonder Suo Suo secretly hoped to cooperate with him.

After all, this was a SS-level instance.

No one wouldn’t be intimidated by this rating.

Wen Jianyan smiled and released him: “You’re so nice.”

He patted the other’s shoulder and said, “You should choose ‘First Love: Our Eternal Love,’ okay?”

Suo Suo’s face stiffened a bit: “Uh… but, I haven’t seen this movie?”

“I know,” Wen Jianyan lowered his eyelashes, smiling as he looked at him, his gaze almost affectionate, “I haven’t seen it either.”

Suo Suo: “…”

Then why are you telling me to choose it???

Wen Jianyan: “I’m very interested in this movie, and I also have some information you might need… If you choose ‘First Love,’ I’ll help you.”

Suo Suo swallowed and asked with difficulty, “And if I don’t choose it…”

“Then you’ll have to rely on yourself.”

Wen Jianyan’s gaze as he looked at him was gentle, but the words he spoke did not match his gaze:

“Including the club members you might encounter next, you’ll just have to face them alone.”

In the “Integrity First” live room:

[…]

[You’re really mean.]

[It’s not a threat, but it’s more effective than a threat. Who the hell would dare to refuse this!]

[Hahahahahaha well, he’s getting full revenge for being abandoned in the cafeteria before.]

Suo Suo: “…”

In fact, the moment he asked the question, he already knew he had no choice.

He gave two dry laughs and forced a smooth response, “Actually, I’m quite curious about the movie ‘First Love’ too…”

Wen Jianyan: “Really? What a coincidence.”

Suo Suo: “Haha, yeah, yeah.”

After the forced pleasantries, he braced himself, turned around, and walked towards the film appreciation desk.

From behind, Wen Jianyan’s friendly reminder came:

“Don’t touch anything else on the desk before you sign, it might be dangerous.”

Suo Suo: “…”

Thanks a lot.

He took a deep breath, looked down, picked up the pen next to the paper, and wrote his name on the sheet.

Bright red ink seeped from the nib, bleeding onto the yellow paper.

Wen Jianyan watched him from behind, not missing a single detail.

What happened next was pretty much as he had guessed. Suo Suo looked up, and when he saw the back of the desk, his body trembled and his face turned pale.

Wen Jianyan followed his gaze.

The space behind the desk was empty, not a single shadow.

Then, Suo Suo looked down, picked up a piece of paper from the desk, and after reading its contents, reached for the shelf and took out a cassette tape.

After doing all this, he fled from the desk as if escaping and ran towards Wen Jianyan.

Wen Jianyan: “Finished?”

“…” Suo Suo turned his head to look at the empty desk, nodded, still seemingly shaken, “Yeah.”

Wen Jianyan: “Where’s the tape?”

Suo Suo took out the tape and handed it to Wen Jianyan.

The movie title was written on the tape on the side—that’s right, it was indeed “First Love: Our Eternal Love.”

After confirming, Wen Jianyan once again asked for Suo Suo’s thesis report card.

He quickly scanned the questions on it, pausing at the last one.

【3. Please write your thoughts after watching. (60 points)】

The point value was the same.

But this time, no score appeared after it.

Wen Jianyan sighed.

It seemed he was really the only one who had offended the substitute teacher.

In the “Integrity First” live room:

“What else did you expect???”

Wen Jianyan handed the report card back to Suo Suo and patted his shoulder: “Alright, go over there and wait for me.”

Suo Suo: “Then next…?”

Wen Jianyan nodded: “You’ll act with me.”

Suo Suo let out a long sigh of relief and quickly left.

Wen Jianyan’s gaze fell on his retreating back, lost in thought.

At this moment, a sneer came from behind:

“Tch.”

Wen Jianyan turned to look.

Chen Cheng was standing not far away, his arms crossed, his expression cold and arrogant. He had clearly watched the whole thing from beginning to end: “What are you using that loser for? You don’t have enough people dragging you down?”

Wen Jianyan blinked:

“Hey, isn’t this a way to make use of waste?”

His reason for choosing Suo Suo was both simple and complex.

First, the other had taken the film appreciation course, which was useful enough. Second, he was the only anchor present who knew Orange Candy’s identity and had seen her in person. This might come in handy in his future actions.

“Whatever you want.”

Chen Cheng shrugged contemptuously and turned to leave.

But before he could walk away, Wen Jianyan called out to him: “Wait a minute.”

“?”

Chen Cheng stopped and turned to look.

“How much do you know about the rules for the graduation thesis?”

Wen Jianyan thought for a moment and asked.

Because he had entered the swimming pool, he had missed almost the entire third academic year. It was obviously a bit late to look for rules related to the graduation thesis now.

Based on the other’s previous performance, it was highly likely that Chen Cheng had the information he needed.

Chen Cheng glanced at him: “What do you want to ask?”

“After signing up, can you still change your supervisor?”

Wen Jianyan asked.

Generally speaking, the answer was no—even in reality, it was extremely difficult to change a graduation thesis topic, let alone in an instance full of danger at every step.

But Wen Jianyan had been battling wits with Nightmare for too long. He had long figured out the common logic hidden behind the seemingly unrelated rules.

One had to know… the entire scoring process was too simple.

On the graduation thesis paper, objective questions accounted for a minority of the score, while subjective questions accounted for the majority. This meant that as long as the supervisor had a problem with you, they could easily fail your graduation thesis.

The graduation thesis was a crucial part of the university instance that could not be ignored, and might even determine whether a student could graduate. If it was graded entirely based on the supervisor’s personal preference, it would be a bit too much of a joke.

So, even though he had just been severely screwed over, Wen Jianyan wasn’t too devastated. He quickly recovered and began to plan his next move.

There’s always a way out.

Besides, this wasn’t the only death countdown he was currently carrying.

When you have too many lice, you stop worrying.

“Change supervisor?” Chen Cheng frowned, seemingly puzzled, “Why would you change it?”

Wen Jianyan blinked and honestly explained his situation: “I accidentally offended the supervisor for our course before. Before I could even answer the questions, he gave me a failing grade.”

Chen Cheng: “…”

In the “Integrity First” live room:

[Hahahahahahaha!]

[Chen Cheng: Speechless.]

[I guess most people wouldn’t have thought of failing this way, I’m dying of laughter.]

Chen Cheng took a deep look at Wen Jianyan. It was rare for him not to offer a sarcastic remark. He withdrew his gaze and said nonchalantly:

“Yes.”

This was clearly an answer to Wen Jianyan’s previous question.

“Oh?”

Wen Jianyan’s spirits lifted, “Tell me about it?”

“If a supervisor mixes personal emotions into the grading of the graduation thesis, like in your case,” Chen Cheng said, “it’s considered a violation. You can go to the matriculation office to file a complaint and apply to change your supervisor.”

“…”

An image of the female teacher in red staring at him with a venomous gaze appeared in Wen Jianyan’s mind.

He gave a dry laugh: “Is there any other way?”

“?”

Chen Cheng raised one eyebrow high. He was already young and had a naturally aggressive appearance. Making this expression now made him look even more harsh: “This isn’t good enough?”

Wen Jianyan: “Uh… to be honest with you.”

He averted his gaze and said with some embarrassment, “The teacher in the matriculation office probably has a blood feud with me too.”

Chen Cheng: “………………”

In the “Integrity First” live room:

[Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!]

[I told you, you punk, not to offend the NPCs so thoroughly. You didn’t listen, now you’re getting what you deserve!!]

[Hahahaha Chen Cheng: I’m so fucking speechless.]

[So, is this the only way?]

Wen Jianyan asked sincerely.

Chen Cheng: “…Not necessarily.”

Wen Jianyan: “Tell me about it?”

“This you’ll have to communicate yourself,” Chen Cheng turned his head and gestured with his chin towards the offices behind him, “If a teacher from another subject is willing to accept you, you can complete their graduation thesis.”

He stared at Wen Jianyan:

“Of course, I don’t need to tell you that the difficulty will increase.”

“Yes,” Wen Jianyan nodded, “Thank you.”

As long as there was a way, the increase in difficulty was secondary.

After thanking Chen Cheng, Wen Jianyan turned to look at the other areas of the office.

The first choice was naturally the courses he had signed up for before.

Soon, Wen Jianyan found the desk for the 【Outdoor Practice】 course. After confirming his target, he walked over quickly.

Since he had already gone through it once, he bent down, expertly picked up the pen, and wrote his name on the paper in front of him.

Wen Jianyan took a deep breath and looked up.

Sure enough, just like last time, the teacher for the outdoor practice course appeared in front of the desk. Although it was still that familiar face, it was far more sinister and terrifying than in his memory.

Suddenly, Wen Jianyan’s peripheral vision caught sight of another cold figure appearing not far away.

“?!”

He shuddered and subconsciously turned to look.

Not far from the office desk stood the man with the bluish-white face and grotesque smile. He stood motionless not far away, staring in this direction with his pupil-less eyes. Although he didn’t move or make any sound, it still caused a layer of cold sweat to break out on Wen Jianyan’s back.

It was Teacher Sun.

Why would he appear at this time?

Wen Jianyan seemed to realize something. He turned his head back and looked at the front of the desk.

At some point, the teacher for the outdoor practice course had already disappeared—and the thesis report card related to this course had not appeared on the corner of the desk.

“…”

A chill ran down Wen Jianyan’s back, and he once again looked in Teacher Sun’s direction.

With a grotesque smile on his face, the other party once again slowly faded into the darkness.

Soon, everything by the desk was back to normal.

Wen Jianyan lowered his eyes and looked at the registration book. On the yellowed paper, the words he had just written had not been absorbed into the paper as before. He paused, reached out, and gently wiped the surface of the cold paper. The blood-red words were thus easily erased.

He rubbed his sticky thumb, understanding what had just happened as clearly as possible.

Chen Cheng had made it very clear just now.

The premise for privately changing a supervisor was “if they are willing to accept you.”

In other words, without the intervention of the instance’s rules, whether to accept a new student or not was entirely up to the substitute teacher’s personal will.

And Teacher Sun’s malice and hatred for him were too deep. He wouldn’t rest until he had killed him with his own hands, so he would naturally interfere with this process.

You could figure it out with your toes that no teacher would offend another teacher just to accept him.

Wen Jianyan slowly let out a breath, slowly wiped the red marks from his fingertips, and fell into deep thought.

Could it be that he still had to go to the matriculation office now? But the problem was, if there was anyone in this instance who hated him more than Teacher Sun, it was only that female teacher in red.

The female teacher in red hadn’t done anything to him before only because she was bound by the rules. Now that he was voluntarily walking into her hands, the outcome was predictable.

Suddenly, Wen Jianyan seemed to think of something. He froze slightly, looked up, and looked at Chen Cheng not far away:

“When choosing a graduation thesis supervisor, it doesn’t have to be a course you’ve taken before, right?”

Chen Cheng paused: “Right.”

He frowned at Wen Jianyan, arms crossed, his expression harsh and cold: “If you really want to die, you can just kill yourself. Why go through all this trouble?”

In this kind of high-level instance, information was a lifeline.

Moreover, this was a double-S rated instance.

If you chose an elective you had never taken before, the level of difficulty would be almost unimaginable—it was no different from completely discarding the information you had accumulated throughout the instance, which was practically suicide.

“Thank you.”

Wen Jianyan smiled nonchalantly, seeming completely unoffended by the other’s words.

He looked around, then quickly walked to the other end of the office.

A course that was willing to accept him, even at the cost of offending another teacher.

Wen Jianyan happened to know of one.

Soon, he stopped in front of a desk and looked down.

A small sign was nailed to the corner of the desk, with two words written on it:

Dance.

In the “Integrity First” live room:

[??]

[Dance class??]

[I remember now. Ahhh, have you all forgotten? In the first academic year, the anchor once entered the dance classroom and had an encounter with the dance teacher, that one!]

[Damn, I remember now too. The look in that dance teacher’s eyes was so scary back then. If it weren’t for the instance’s rules, I don’t think he would have let the anchor leave at all.]

[If I remember correctly, that should have been the first time I saw a school teacher actively pull someone into a class…]

[My goodness… if there really is someone who would rather offend another teacher to accept the anchor, it would probably only be this person.]

Wen Jianyan took a deep breath, as if making up his mind about something.

He looked down, picked up the pen on the desk, and signed his name on it.

When he looked up, the figure of the dance teacher had already appeared in front of the desk.

The other party still had the same familiar appearance from his memory.

A deathly gray face as if smeared with hundreds of layers of white clay, a pair of pitch dark, lusterless eyes stared fixedly at him, brewing some kind of terrifying greed within.

Not far away, Teacher Sun’s figure appeared again.

But unlike the last time, the grotesque smile on his face was no longer as confident as before, but rather looked exceptionally grim. After a few seconds, his figure faded into the darkness, while the dance teacher remained standing fixedly in front of the desk.

With a gaze that felt like it could scrape the flesh from Wen Jianyan’s bones, he slowly swept it across his body, making Wen Jianyan’s scalp tingle and his back break out in sweat.

He looked down at the registration form in front of him.

The blood-red words were absorbed by the paper’s texture and slowly disappeared.

“…”

Wen Jianyan knew he had succeeded.

—However, whether this was good or bad for him was still hard to say.

The dance teacher, with a greedy and cold, wide smile, slowly raised his hand and pointed to the side of the desk.

Wen Jianyan looked in his direction, and the familiar report card appeared before him.

He paused and picked up the report card.

And as he picked up the report card, before he even had time to read the contents carefully, the environment around him instantly switched and changed.

“?!”

Wen Jianyan was horrified and looked up.

He was no longer in the office. The few anchors who had been acting with him before had also disappeared.

And where he was now… looked like a huge dance studio.

The tables and chairs were removed, and it was empty inside. The huge mirror that occupied the wall reflected Wen Jianyan’s lonely figure.

It was dark all around, with only a single beam of light falling from above, trapping him within it.

…”

Looking at the unfamiliar scene before him, Wen Jianyan subconsciously tightened his grip on the report card in his hand. The edges of the paper were crumpled by his grasp.

His heart pounded in his chest, roaring.

In the “Integrity First” live room:

[Huh?]

[It’s starting already??]

[Weren’t the other anchors able to choose when to start the assessment themselves? Why did the anchor go straight in? What did he just do?]

[I think it has little to do with what the anchor did. It’s probably the dance teacher using his privilege to increase the difficulty…]

[Huh? Why?]

[…My guess is, he probably couldn’t wait any longer.]

Wen Jianyan gritted his teeth, looked down, and looked at the report card in his hand.

【Graduation Thesis Report Card】

Name: Wen Jianyan

Student ID: 180039

Supervisor: Teacher Zheng

【Welcome, student, to the Dance course. Please complete the graduation thesis according to the supervisor’s requirements. The quality of this thesis is crucial to whether you can successfully graduate from this university. Please treat it with the utmost seriousness.
Please select and complete three rounds of assessment, and receive an average grade of B or above to pass.】

Looking at the words on it, cold sweat broke out on Wen Jianyan’s back.

This is bad.

He had never taken this course before.

He had originally planned to find a anchor who had taken this course before to get some information, or use his identity as ‘Club President’ to find members of the dance club to gather clues.

He really hadn’t expected that the other party would use his own privilege to pull him directly into the scene, forcing him to enter the formal exam without any information.

Isn’t this equivalent to throwing someone who hasn’t learned to swim into the sea?!

How was he supposed to know what dance to do, how to pass?!

Suddenly, a static sound came from the speaker at the edge of the classroom, startling Wen Jianyan.

The sound was strange, slightly distorted by the machine, making one very uncomfortable.
