Chapter 65

“If I become king, what will you be to me?”

St. Carter Fort Base.

In the empty corridor, the elevator door suddenly exploded without warning—

Boom!

The elevator door flew out like a cannonball, smashing into the wall and deforming on impact.

Amidst the swirling smoke, Bai Sheng burst through the elevator door with a powerful kick, holding Shen Zhuo with one arm, and rolled to the ground. Yang Xiaodao followed closely behind, easily jumping in and vigilantly scanning the surroundings with his gun: “Clear.”

Bai Sheng got up from the ground, but before he could help Shen Zhuo, he regretfully noticed that Inspector Shen had already separated from him, stepping back nonchalantly.

“This is the second-to-last floor of the base, just above the meteorite storage floor,” Inspector Shen said, casually brushing the dust off himself. “One more floor down, and we can find Rong Qi.”

Bai Sheng glanced at Shen Zhuo, focusing on his hands.

Just moments ago, as they slid down the elevator shaft on the cable, those arms had been tightly wrapped around his neck, obedient and docile, as if wanting to be even closer. Yet, as soon as they exited the elevator, Shen Zhuo immediately resumed his professional and distant demeanor, as if nothing had happened.

“What are you looking at?” Shen Zhuo noticed his gaze.

“Nothing,” Bai Sheng muttered, withdrawing his eyes. “A heart at 37 degrees can still be so cool and composed. Huh, men.”

Shen Zhuo: “?”

“How do we get down?” Yang Xiaodao asked, aiming his gun at the floor, looking eager to blast it open.

“This base cost billions of dollars, and the floors are embedded with tungsten alloy plates, which can’t be penetrated,” Shen Zhuo explained, signaling them to follow him. “This way.”

The underground levels were equipped with various intelligent systems and armed defenses. Fortunately, Antonio could control the backend and shut down the entire base’s defense system. Otherwise, if Rong Qi had activated the high-firepower defense mode using Nielsen’s authority, their short walk would have been much more dangerous.

At the end of the defense passage, Shen Zhuo fumbled around in the dark for a while, relying on his memory. He finally found an iron mesh at the base of the wall. He crouched down, shone a flashlight on it, entered a string of passwords, and then signaled Yang Xiaodao to pry it open with his dagger.

Clang!

The iron mesh fell to the ground with a loud clang that echoed through the corridor.

“This is a temporary water-cooling duct that I noticed during an inspection four days ago. It hasn’t been sealed off yet.” Shen Zhuo pointed toward the narrow, deep passage behind the iron mesh, which was only half a meter square. “If we crawl down through here, we can directly reach the next level.”

“…” Bai Sheng emphasized: “Crawl down?”

Shen Zhuo nodded, his expression slightly conflicted.

Bai Sheng and Yang Xiaodao, one S-class and one strong A-class, stood there expressionless, staring at the small hole at the base of the wall.

“When I was young and naive, I thought heroes who saved the world deserved grand and glorious entrances. I never expected the reality would involve crawling down through an air duct in an empty underground base.” Bai Sheng pinched his chin thoughtfully, looking at Shen Zhuo with a resigned expression. “Is there really no other way?”

Shen Zhuo pointed behind him and said, “There is. Follow this direction for 200 meters, and there is a lift platform, huge and magnificent, descending vertically from the top to the underground base. The staff at the base have named it the King’s Sedan.”

Bai Sheng humbly asked for guidance, “So the reason we can’t take this King’s Sedan is…”

The two looked into each other’s eyes for a moment, and Shen Zhuo finally told the truth:

“Because last time I came, I didn’t register my fingerprint. Forcibly taking it will release a million volts, turning the king in the sedan into black charcoal.”

“…”

Shen Zhuo compromised in the face of the silent accusatory gazes of the father and son, reached out and patted Bai Sheng on the shoulder, and negotiated in a low voice: “I promise you, if we deal with Rong Qi this time, I’ll throw a celebration for you in Shenhai City’s plaza. A group of inspectors will carry you into the venue, parading down the street like a king’s coronation. How about that?”

Bai Sheng raised an eyebrow and looked down at him with a slight flash in his eyes, his expression rather playful. After a moment, he said, “Mm, better not.”

Shen Zhuo didn’t understand.

Bai Sheng leaned in close to his ear and asked with a soft laugh, “If I become the king, then what would you be to me?”

“……”

Bai Sheng laughed mischievously, not looking at Shen Zhuo’s instant expression in the darkness. He gestured to Yang Xiaodao to move forward, then led the way, bending down to explore the water-cooling pipe.

***

Three minutes later, Bai Sheng was clearing obstacles at the front, Yang Xiaodao was guarding the rear, and Shen Zhuo, who was silently moving forward with his head down, was in the middle.

The depths of the pipeline were actually very narrow, sometimes only allowing one person to crawl through. Fortunately, Bai Sheng, being meticulous by nature, could clear all obstacles and protrusions at the front of the team. Following behind him, Shen Zhuo could place his hands directly on the ground without being scratched or injured by any parts of the pipeline.

“I have a question,” Bai Sheng’s voice came from the front of the pipeline, and he casually asked, “How many high-level evolutionists does Rong Qi have under him?”

“Based on Chu Yan’s observations and the tracking by the International Supervision General Administration, he has more mid- to low-level evolutionists. There are about a dozen A-class evolutionists, all of whom are the most radical racists, like the Noda siblings. The strongest one has already been killed by you.”

“That little Japanese guy whose head I twisted off?”

Shen Zhuo hummed in acknowledgment.

Noda Shunsuke’s spatial black hole was indeed a major killer move, and his combat power was top-notch. Even globally, he was considered one of the strongest A-class evolutionists, so there was nothing much to say about that.

“Then I don’t understand why the ones blocking us up there were all low-level weaklings. For such a major invasion, wouldn’t he bring out some A-class experts to assist?” Bai Sheng frowned. “Could it be that he kept all the strong ones with him?”

“……”

Shen Zhuo pondered for a moment, noncommittal, and slowly said, “Actually, there’s something else I find strange.”

“What is it?”

“The Evolution Source is a highly dangerous item. Once it entered a sealed container, no one touched it for at least a few years. Why is Rong Qi invading so urgently, not even waiting to confirm that you’ve returned to Shenhai?”

Bai Sheng thought for a moment, then turned his head to look at the top of Shen Zhuo’s head. “Could it be that he fears Nielsen’s access rights will be completely revoked after some time?”

Bai Sheng thought for a moment, then turned to look at the top of Shen Zhuo’s head: “Could it be that he’s afraid Nielsen’s access privileges will be completely revoked after some time?”

“The other inspectors think so too.” Shen Zhuo exhaled and muttered, “But I still feel…something’s not right.”

The three of them crawled through the duct with their heads down. Apart from Yang Xiaodao, who adapted quickly to crawling through the duct, moving swiftly with his hands and feet, and occasionally bumping his head into Shen Zhuo’s legs with a “hiss” sound, there was no other noise.

After a while, Bai Sheng let out a light laugh through his nose.

It was just a light laugh, but a few seconds later, Shen Zhuo’s voice came through: “…What are you laughing at?”

“I’m laughing at both of us,” Bai Sheng said, casually smoothing out the protruding nails in the duct like they were made of clay to prevent them from scratching Shen Zhuo, who was coming up behind him. He said nonchalantly: “Right now, as we’re discussing, we seem like comrades who live and die together, but in the next moment, you might think we’re from different factions—one an evolutionist, the other a human. Then you’ll start guarding against me like a thief, afraid that one day I’ll betray you and start a massacre for the opposing faction…”

Shen Zhuo coldly interrupted, “I don’t think that way.”

Bai Sheng leisurely responded, “Oh, really?”

No one spoke in the narrow passage. After a moment, Bai Sheng let out a self-deprecating laugh.

“I know you better than you think,” Shen Zhuo said suddenly, lowering his head to avoid the protrusion in the pipeline joint.

Bai Sheng was a bit surprised and glanced back, but could only see the top of Shen Zhuo’s dark hair.

“Every high-level evolutionist who enters Shenhai has their detailed file on my desk immediately, including you. It took me four whole days to go through your file—your childhood experiences, your parents’ accident, your preferences, behavioral patterns…every detail of your life that could shed light on your personality.”

Shen Zhuo paused and added, “I even had someone pull the law enforcement video from when you reported the street racing gang in college.”

Bai Sheng silently acknowledged this, recalling that it had indeed happened.

Back then, he was only eighteen or nineteen, driving his first supercar, a Porsche 911 GT3. On the mountain road, he was repeatedly overtaken and provoked by a group of street racers. For a hot-headed young man of that age, it would have been easy to lose control, especially when driving a high-performance beast like the GT3. Just one press of the pedal could teach those racers a lesson. But Bai Sheng clearly remembered from his driving test that racing on mountain roads was against the traffic regulations.

Bai Sheng has always had an exceptional level of self-control and restraint when it comes to his immense power. Despite the provocation from a dozen modified cars, he stayed clear-headed and rational, drove down the mountain, and immediately reported the racers, resulting in their arrest by the traffic police.

“Greater power comes with greater uncontrollable risk, so I must assess the danger posed by every ability user in my jurisdiction. If it exceeds a certain threshold, they must be expelled,” Shen Zhuo said calmly. “But your assessment result came out as nearly zero risk, which made me quite frustrated at the time because I couldn’t find a reason to expel you.”

Bai Sheng laughed loudly, and as he moved forward, he casually flattened a few sharp nails overhead.

“I’ve known from the beginning what kind of person you are and what choices you would make when facing different factions,” Shen Zhuo said after a moment of silence. “You were once my comrade.”

Bai Sheng fell silent, his expression unreadable in the darkness.

They had indeed fought side by side many times.

In the county hospital of Quanshan, they had engaged in close combat with Rong Qi’s subordinates. On the outskirts of Shenhai City, they first unleashed the causality that erased all things and the protective inverse cross. They had made promises and shared a tender kiss when they first learned about the HRG project, and in daydreams, they faced each other’s most painful, chaotic, and unbearable experiences.

But those times seem very distant now.

Carrying off Supervisor Shen in front of all the reporters at the central district cemetery—the heartfelt joy and pride of that moment seemed like a lifetime ago, and even the memories carried a faint, distant sorrow.

“So stop always thinking about expelling me,” Bai Sheng finally said quietly after a long pause.

He squinted toward the faint light that finally appeared ahead in the pipeline and said in a deep voice, “Perhaps at the end of the battlefield, you will find that I am the comrade you need to win over the most.”

As if the softest part of his heart were suddenly and heavily burned, Shen Zhuo’s pupils constricted slightly.

“…And what about me?” Yang Xiaodao’s muffled voice came from behind, “Do minors not count?”

Bai Sheng burst into laughter.

Shen Zhuo closed his eyes, feeling a mix of emotions. After a moment, he too couldn’t help but laugh quietly.

“Alright, be careful.” Bai Sheng gestured backward, his eyes fixed on the exit of the pipeline ahead, his pupils sharp and bright like those of a hawk. “Let’s break into the enemy’s lair with confidence and caution and be ready to take all these bastards down in one fell swoop.”

Clang!

Bai Sheng knocked down the iron mesh with an elbow. Like a nimble eagle, he supported himself on the edge of the exit with his hands and flipped down.

With a heavy thud, he landed steadily on his knees and quickly scanned his surroundings.

The deepest part of the base, the core layer, was actually a huge underground dome. The backup power maintained the operations of this layer. The center of the dome had been hollowed out, with a large lead container resembling a floating-roof oil tank, which should be the legendary meteorite storage chamber.

A suspension bridge connected the ground to the storage chamber’s main door. On the bridge stood a lone figure in black.

Only Rong Qi was there!

Shen Zhuo leaped down from above, and Bai Sheng, without even looking, stretched out his arm to catch him firmly and then pushed him behind himself.

Immediately after, Yang Xiaodao also landed with a thud and looked around in astonishment: “Where’s the enemy’s lair?!”

“…Is this some kind of bluff?” Bai Sheng’s brows furrowed as he scanned every inch of the vast space. Despite the seriousness, there was a hint of mockery in his tone: “Mr. Rong? Rong-ge? Hello? Are you alive?”

The figure in the distance turned around, his pale face expressionless. It was indeed Rong Qi, just as they had seen in the surveillance footage!

Shen Zhuo wanted to step forward, but Bai Sheng, anticipating his move, held him back. The height difference meant Shen Zhuo could only see S-class’ slightly raised chin and the clean, sturdy side of his neck.

“What are you doing, Rong-ge? All your subordinates have been torn apart by me. They were hoping you’d come and back them up in their final moments.” Bai Sheng held Shen Zhuo in place, his eyes fixed on the figure on the bridge, smiling. “Aren’t you going to send them off? Or are you just here fishing?”

Rong Qi stood in the shadows and finally spoke in a hoarse voice:

“I will send you down to join them.”

After a pause, he added coldly, “Even though they were just low-level beings seeking a second evolution.”

Shen Zhuo’s brow suddenly twitched, a sharp sense of dissonance rising in his heart.

The force of Bai Sheng’s grip seemed to pause for a moment as well.

“Where is Nielsen?” Shen Zhuo suddenly asked, his tone slightly tense: “You can’t breach the main door of the storage chamber alone without biometric data. Why didn’t you bring Nielsen along?”

Rong Qi completely ignored this question, his eyes fixed on Bai Sheng: “I am enough alone. What, are you afraid to invoke the Law of Causality?”

Bai Sheng looked at him, his expression unchanged.

“Even with the blessing of luck, there’s no guarantee of success. Aren’t you afraid of dying here with me?!”

Bai Sheng’s response was to raise two fingers, their tips together.

A blindingly bright light suddenly appeared from the void, as if the very air around them had momentarily frozen.

The Law of Causality!

Yang Xiaodao instinctively shielded Shen Zhuo with half his body. Without needing to be told, he condensed a chaotic, translucent air mass in his palm.

The seemingly inconspicuous stream of air, without any apparent offensive power, was known to everyone present. The Luck Ability would only manifest in a gaseous form under one condition—when it was extremely close to reaching its maximum potential, to the point where it could be directly observed by the naked eye.

It was the ultimate cheat code for causality, capable of instantly boosting the success rate to 99%.

The pupil of the figure on the bridge rapidly dilated.

He instinctively glanced at the countdown timer on his tactical watch: 1 hour and 23 seconds remaining.

That’s enough, this insane thought surfaced in his mind as he faced his death.

That amount of time was definitely not enough for them to reach 1,300 kilometers away. No one could stop what had been meticulously planned for tonight. When the sun rose tomorrow, tens of millions, perhaps even a hundred million, of his kind would appear on Earth. The old humans would be completely replaced, and the noble sacrificers would be forever enshrined on the monument of the new Earth—

“Come on, try it.”

At the last moment, in extreme tension, he finally revealed a clue, his eyes involuntarily glancing at the rare luck ability held in Yang Xiaodao’s hands. He trembled and chuckled:

“Since you have such a high luck value, wouldn’t it be a waste not to use it on this journey?”

Yang Xiaodao didn’t hesitate and was about to channel all his luck into the Law of Causality when Shen Zhuo suddenly grabbed him: “Wait!”

“?”

Yang Xiaodao was taken aback, only to see Shen Zhuo chambering a round in his gun and aiming it at Rong Qi in the distance without hesitation. Just as he was about to take a desperate shot, Bai Sheng swiftly snatched the gun from him. Then, he aimed at the figure of Rong Qi and fired—

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The bullets pierced through the figure, splattering blood, and the silhouette on the bridge collapsed. Yang Xiaodao immediately exclaimed, “Be careful of the backlash!”

—However, no backlash occurred.

After Rong Qi fell from being shot, Bai Sheng still stood steadily there, clearly sneering, as he briskly led Shen Zhuo onto the bridge.

Yang Xiaodao was utterly bewildered. In his panic, he dared not retract the luck values. Hastily following the two adults, he took a closer look and found that the “Rong Qi” who was shot on the bridge had his face transformed into layers of fluid, then his body shortened, his hair changed, and his features reformed.

It was a completely unfamiliar face.

A camouflaging ability user!

Blood kept gushing from the man’s mouth. He could no longer stand but still glared at Bai Sheng and Shen Zhuo with intense malice, smiling spitefully:

“You… too late…”

“Where are Rong Qi and Nielsen? What’s your plan?” Shen Zhuo grabbed the man’s collar, shouting urgently, “I can save your life. If you don’t want to die, talk!”

The camouflaging ability user gasped for breath, his bloodshot eyes turning to Bai Sheng: “Being a dog… for humans… you will surely…”

A sudden flash of metal slipped out of his sleeve, and in his dying moments, he lunged at Shen Zhuo. But with a bang, Bai Sheng mercilessly pulled the trigger.

A bloody hole appeared on the forehead of the disguised esper. Clang! The dagger fell to the ground, followed by the body crashing heavily into the pool of blood.

The air suddenly became quiet, except for the sound of blood dripping, making it so quiet that one could hear a pin drop.

Shen Zhuo slowly released his grip, and Bai Sheng grabbed his arm to help him up, preventing him from getting blood on himself from the dead body.

“…I’ve seen this person before,” Shen Zhuo stared at the face of the corpse on the ground, then hoarsely continued after a moment.

“When Rong Qi first invaded the Shenhai City Supervision Office, an inspector led me into the elevator. In the elevator, this man revealed his true identity and suddenly attacked me. He took away the spatial ability shielding device from my wrist, allowing Noda Shunsuke to open a spatial black hole and appear right behind me.”

“And then?” Bai Sheng asked quietly.

“I shot and killed this person at that time, but after repelling Rong Qi and returning,  I couldn’t find his body in the elevator. The surveillance footage showed that Noda Shunsuke dragged the body into the spatial dimension.” Shen Zhuo’s throat moved dryly. “I confirmed that he was dead at the time…”

But now, the camouflage ability user who had been dead stood alive before them, and even his ability seemed unaffected.

A terrifying fact that had never been discovered before finally appeared before them.

“So Rong Qi can resurrect his subordinates as long as he has their bodies.”

Bai Sheng’s tone remained steady, exuding a calming influence in the dire situation: “When Rong Qi fought Nielsen, someone did use a spatial tunnel to save him. We thought it was another spatial ability user, but it was actually the resurrected Noda Shunsuke.”

“…”

“It’s okay; at least we’ve learned a valuable lesson now. Next time we encounter Rong Qi, we won’t even leave behind a body for him,” Bai Sheng tightened his grip around Shen Zhuo’s shoulder, speaking with determination. “Experience is gained through setbacks. The next time I encounter that little Japanese, I’ll crush his head along with his whole body and burn them to ashes.”

Shen Zhuo forced a smile, but a deep sense of unease rose within him.

“…But why?” He looked up at the massive underground dome, murmuring, “What was the real purpose of drawing us here with so much effort?”

Yang Xiaodao squatted by the corpse, confused, and raised his hand: “To waste my luck?”

Yang Xiaodao’s luck, accumulated over sixteen years, was only enough to enhance the Law of Causality once. If this wasn’t the real Rong Qi, it would take another ten years to accumulate enough luck again, effectively nullifying the Law of Causality’s super boost—this explanation did make some sense.

But Shen Zhuo slowly shook his head, “No, the cost-benefit ratio is too low.”

He closed his eyes, quickly replaying the entire invasion in his mind, analyzing every detail and even the slightest hint of strangeness and discordance to the extreme.

Rong Qi’s intention was clearly to lure them away, but why choose the location of the Saint Carter Fort Base?

The meteorite storage chamber remained intact in front of everyone, indicating what?

The mission was a complete success, and the plot to steal the Evolution Source meteorite was thwarted. Does this mean they can safely return to Shenhai?

Countless threads formed in his mind, finally leading to a terrifying hypothesis.

Shen Zhuo suddenly opened his eyes, staring at the intact giant lead container in the distance, his expression changing slightly.

Bai Sheng: “?”

Shen Zhuo had no time to explain in detail. His face turned grim as he quickly stepped forward, crossing the long bridge to the tightly closed door of the storage chamber. He swiftly entered a forty-character password, then scanned his fingerprint and iris.

The first password lock was released, the second biometric lock was released, but the third required backend approval. The Saint Carter Fort Base, the National Supervision Office, and the International Supervision General Administration could all grant authorization. However, with the base staff all gone, there was no time to contact Antonio outside.

Shen Zhuo decisively signaled to Bai Sheng:

“Where’s the mortar Antonio got for you?”

Bai Sheng: “Baby, what are you planning to do?!”

Yang Xiaodao, who had been carrying the equipment bag all along, finally found a use for it. Without a word, he immediately took out the mortar. The specially made barrel of the supervision office’s mortar gleamed with a silvery light. With the reverence of handling a sacred artifact, the young man quickly assembled it, lifted it with one hand, and excitedly asked Shen Zhuo, “Should I just blast it?”

Bai Sheng snatched the mortar away and said in shock: “What are you doing? Minors are not allowed to handle mortars!”

“?!” Yang Xiaodao argued: “I carried it all the way here…”

“The Evolution Source storage chamber is a top-level military site. I, as one of the world’s top ten supervisors, authorize you to breach this door with the mortar. I will take full responsibility for any future military repercussions.” Shen Zhuo pointed at the main door, covered his ears, and decisively said, “Fire!”

Bai Sheng pushed Yang Xiaodao aside, and with a thunderous roar, the mortar fired!

The explosion shook the underground, causing the bridge to resonate.

The lead door finally began to slowly open.

Sirens blared instantly, flashing blinding red lights. The alarm for breaching a military site was immediately transmitted, and the base, the National Supervision Office, and the International Supervision General Administration simultaneously received a level-one red alert.

Meanwhile, 3,000 meters above the base.

“Say that again?” Antonio, inside an armed helicopter, suddenly pressed his earpiece.

“Supervisor, it’s bad! The lead container has been breached!” The inspector on the earpiece was almost in tears: “The intruders have probably succeeded!”

Antonio’s blood pressure skyrocketed, and he realized with a sense of doom that Supervisor Shen and Bai Sheng had died in his jurisdiction: “Wh-what!”

A hundred meters below, in the core layer, Bai Sheng stood in front of the smoky doorway and turned to Shen Zhuo, emphasizing:

“You realize that firing that mortar could land us both in prison hand in hand for the rest of our lives, right? Quit literally living and dying together, with no other entertainment activities besides sticking to each other every night in the cell, don’t you, Supervisor Shen?”

Shen Zhuo strode into the room, his face expressionless: “Don’t worry, Mr. Bai, I’m almost certain that the contents of this chamber won’t impact your future of enjoying your five-meter-wide bed every night at home.”

Bai Sheng: “…”

The 15-meter-thick lead panels made the interior of the chamber much smaller than it appeared from the outside. Everywhere, there were neat rows of tungsten alloy shelves stacked to the top. Lead boxes of varying sizes were arranged on the shelves, each with an independent number. Shen Zhuo randomly took out a few boxes and signaled Bai Sheng and Yang Xiaodao to open them.

“?” Yang Xiaodao, as if squeezing clay, crushed the lead box, revealing a piece of meteorite emitting a shimmering blue light: “Is something wrong?”

Bai Sheng’s eyelid twitched suddenly.

An S-class evolutionist’s sensitivity to the evolution source was akin to that of an ordinary person feeling their own hand with their left hand. He kneeled on one knee, examining the four lead boxes in front of him, each holding different sizes and glowing Evolution Sources. He compared them with the one Yang Xiaodao held, his face lit by the eerie glow. After a moment, he looked up to meet Shen Zhuo’s gaze.

Their eyes met, and they both understood the truth from each other’s reactions.

“I always wondered how someone like Nielsen, a director-general, could easily align himself with Rong Qi. Now it makes sense…”

Bai Sheng looked at the layers of neatly stacked lead boxes around the storage room, his voice light and incredulous: “The evolution sources in this chamber are fake.”

Yang Xiaodao: “Huh?!”

Shen Zhuo had already guessed this secret and calmly asked, “How many are fake?”

Bai Sheng, pressing his throbbing temple, pointed to the far-right box among the five lead boxes at his feet: “Only this one…”

He paused and said: “…Is real.”

An 80% falsification rate—this wasn’t real mixed with fake; it was fake with a bit of real!

Once the Evolution Sources were stored, no one would touch them for years, not to mention Nielsen wielded significant power as the Director-General. Now that he had fallen from his position, Cameron had the chance to thoroughly investigate the internal issues of the International Supervision General Administration. The secret of the fake meteorites was only a matter of time before it was discovered.

Regardless of Nielsen’s motive for embezzling the Evolution Source, whether for smuggling, profit, or to build his network of influence, once such a serious crime was exposed, Nielsen’s life would be over, and he would truly spend the rest of his life in prison.

He wasn’t easily swayed by Rong Qi; he had no choice but to join him!

Shen Zhuo stood up, his face drained of color and his eyes dark and deep. They both saw themselves clearly in each other’s pupils.

Bai Sheng opened his hand, saying in a deep voice, “45 minutes and 11 seconds.”

In his blood-stained palm, the tactical watch taken from the corpse continued its countdown.

The glowing red digits continued to decrease like a looming death sentence, inching closer with each passing moment.

“We’ve been completely lured away from the mountain.” Shen Zhuo’s gaze turned towards the distance as he spoke softly.

“Now we have only 45 minutes left to find Rong Qi and stop him from taking away the real evolution sources.”
