Chapter 46

At the wedding, everyone will go to Fu Chen’s grave to play an unforgettable song.

Rafa parked in the underground garage, and the engine roared to a sudden stop.

Bai Sheng got out of the car, closed the door, and turned to the passenger side, spreading his hands in a devout request, “May I have the honor of carrying you up the stairs myself, Inspector?”

Shen Zhuo had changed into casual home clothes. The soft light colors made him look like a young student, seemingly much younger than Bai Sheng. His usual solemn and restrained black suit and white shirt were soaked with tears, along with a report card that was already unrecognizable and a financial deficit report of 360 million.

As Bai Sheng rushed all the way back from the cemetery, he caught Chen Miao, who was determined to hang himself due to excessive guilt, standing on a chair and howling after finishing the last cup of milk tea in his life. It took a lot of persuasion by Shui Ronghua to pull him down. On the other side, everyone was solemnly queuing to sign a petition, the main content of which was to cut expenses from now on. The breakfast porridge in the unit’s canteen would no longer be endlessly refilled; after all, with a deficit of 360 million, every penny saved counted.

Seeing this, Bai Sheng felt heartbroken. On the spot, he wrote a check for 2 million yuan to the canteen, allowing everyone to have an extra meal. Everyone burst into tears of gratitude, bidding farewell to him respectfully as he took away the helpless supervisor.

Fortunately, although Shen Zhuo’s brain function was disturbed, he could still recognize people. He quietly cooperated with Bai Sheng to get into the car. Before leaving, Bai Sheng also wrote a guarantee for Shui Ronghua, who was eyeing them like a tiger. He personally signed and pledged not to take advantage during the period when the supervisor was under the influence of medication. He swore not to do anything inappropriate while helping with bathing, changing clothes, or sleeping at night. If there were any violations, he would be punished under the crime of scumbag. He promised to sell himself to the Shenhai City Supervision Office for the rest of his life, working without salary and not asking for bonuses, serving until death.

Shen Zhuo’s tears had stopped. His cheeks had clear lines, his contours were perfect, his complexion was snow-white, and his eyelids were slightly reddened. It was unclear what he was silently contemplating. After a moment, he shook his head to indicate that he didn’t want to be carried, and he got out of the car by himself.

Bai Sheng almost wished he could conjure up a floor scrubber to clean, sterilize, and disinfect every inch of the ground Shen Zhuo had walked on, ensuring that not a speck of dust remained, and then lay down a layer of cashmere carpet. However, fortunately, Shen Zhuo wasn’t so fragile. He walked into the elevator himself, remaining silent in Bai Sheng’s arms all the way, resembling a life-sized figurine with stable emotions despite being withdrawn.

Before Bai Sheng could feel relieved, the elevator reached the top floor of the building. When the door opened, he saw Yang Xiaodao standing respectfully in the living room.

Yang Xiaodao wore a floral apron and held a riding crop high in his hand. On the dining table were eight dishes and a soup he had just cooked himself. He nervously said:

“Sup-supervisor Shen!”

Chemistry: 18.

Physics: 29.

Mathematics: 43.

Shen Zhuo stared at him without blinking, his eyes quickly turning red, and Bai Sheng realized it was too late to stop him.

The next moment, tears streamed down rapidly, quickly wetting the ground beneath his feet.

“You get out of here!”

Bai Sheng’s soul scattered as he kicked his son away and quickly carried Shen Zhuo to the sofa, comforting and coaxing him in every possible way. Yang Xiaodao scrambled out and tremblingly called Shui Ronghua, “It’s happening again! Dehydration! Quick, Plan B!”

Five minutes later, the supervision office’s car rushed to Bai Sheng’s house, swiftly delivering Plan B downstairs—it was Chu Yan.

Shen Zhuo was silently shedding tears on the sofa, soaking up a large portion of Bai Sheng’s shirt. At that moment, the doorbell rang, and upon opening it, Chu Yan descended like a savior, holding her high school report card high in her hands. 150 marks in both mathematics and physics, and 100 marks in both biology and chemistry. The full marks in all four subjects shone with golden light, instantly blinding Yang Xiaodao’s titanium alloy dog eyes.

“…”

Shen Zhuo’s emotions immediately stabilized. He waved for Chu Yan to come over, patting her head, and finally uttered his first sentence:

“You are the only one in this family who can be counted on.”

“?” At this point, Chu Yan didn’t yet know that Yang Xiaodao’s total score in all four subjects combined couldn’t match one of hers, but she solemnly cooperated, “Understood.”

Bai Sheng pulled out his black card from his wallet and handed it to Chu Yan, solemnly instructing her, “Daughter, go to our hotel and book the presidential suite for two days first. Later, find some time to move back home on your own. Oh, and by the way, when you go out later, take some time to sell your Dao-ge. The farther, the better.”

Yang Xiaodao: “?! “

Chu Yan held her report card high to protect herself, pulled the bewildered Yang Xiaodao, and swiftly withdrew from this minefield area. Before leaving, she didn’t forget to remind him, as she clung to the door, “The research director said, remember to stay hydrated!”

Bai Sheng gestured OK while holding Shen Zhuo.

With a click, the door closed, leaving only Bai Sheng and Shen Zhuo in the house.

Bai Sheng’s chest was soaked, and even the heart of the S-class wolf king was softened. He personally scooped a bowl of soup and hugged Shen Zhuo like a treasure worth a thousand pounds of gold, gently asking, “Baby, are you hungry? Can I feed you?”

“…”

Shen Zhuo remained silent for a moment of unclear significance and didn’t immediately show resistance to this terrifying way of speaking, only opening his mouth.

Bai Sheng then joyfully fed him the soup, carefully and properly. After finishing two bowls of soup, he fed him a bowl of vegetable porridge and peeled two big prawns for him to eat. Then he shook his head and pushed away the plate, indicating that the meal was over.

Considering the disruption of hypothalamic neurohormones affecting appetite, Bai Sheng didn’t mind. He held him gently and asked, “Baby, do you want dessert? Shall I slice a fruit cake for you?”

Shen Zhuo remained silent for another moment, still showing no resistance. It seemed he acquiesced.

So, Bai Sheng happily went to the kitchen and sliced a small piece of pink pineapple mousse cake. He even picked out the pineapple and cut it into perfect heart shapes. He then personally brought it out and fed Shen Zhuo spoonful by spoonful, watching as his mouth slightly reddened.

The usually cold-blooded and decisive Chief Supervisor nestled in Bai Sheng’s arms like a delicate porcelain doll, making Bai Sheng’s heart race and temperature rise. He awkwardly adjusted his sitting posture for a bit of concealment and said, “Baby, after you finish eating, do you want to take a bath? Can I help you?”

This time, Shen Zhuo remained silent in his embrace for a long time, without a trace of expression on his face. After a long time, he spoke hoarsely:

“……Bai Sheng.”

He is finally willing to speak! Bai Sheng’s spirits lifted.

“I’m just sick; don’t think of me as mentally retarded.”

Bai Sheng: “…………”

Bai Sheng immediately regained his composure and apologized, bowing his head, “I’m sorry, I was wrong. Please go ahead.”

***

The sound of the shower finally ceased, leaving Bai Sheng covered in cold water droplets, a towel wrapped around his waist, and standing in front of the bathroom mirror.

Bai Sheng had naturally long bones and had been fond of boxing and extreme sports since childhood. His body fat percentage had always been low, and it had been strengthened to the extreme after evolution. However, his skin tone wasn’t dark, and his physique wasn’t overly intimidating. When dressed, he still had a sense of elegance and length, but it was only when undressed that his broad shoulders, powerful abdominal muscles, and deep mermaid lines extending to the towel wrapped around his waist became evident.

“A man, a man about to turn 28, what’s the difference between not being able to control the lower body and being a beast?” Bai Sheng lowered his head, coaxing the towel with skillful persuasion, “You’re an adult with higher education and mature reasoning abilities. How can you allow yourself to fall into being a beast? Isn’t mutual affection a more sophisticated form of pleasure?”

After a long silence.

“Very well.” Bai Sheng calmed down, having mentally prepared himself, and confidently opened the door, “I’m an adult with the ability to control myself; I can do this.”

Then he entered the master bedroom and looked up.

Shen Zhuo had already finished showering and was lying on the big bed, ready to close his eyes and sleep. Half of his face was buried in Bai Sheng’s pillow. He was wearing an oversized T-shirt that didn’t fit well, and his slender and deep clavicle was visible under the dim yellow light.

“…”

Bai Sheng turned and slammed the door, rushing back to the bathroom, turning on the shower to the maximum, and standing helplessly under the torrent of cold water, thinking helplessly: I am a beast! I am indeed a beast!! I’m willing to work as a slave for the Shenhai City Supervision Office for the rest of my life!!

With a whoosh, the bathroom door was pushed open, and Shen Zhuo stood there expressionless. His beautiful eyes stared straight at Bai Sheng like black crystal shards, his calm tone sounding accusatory:

“Why aren’t you getting into bed?”

“…”

“Your bed is too big. I need to feel safe.”

Bai Sheng felt like a giant wolf with his soaked scalp and fur. If he had a tail, it would definitely be tightly tucked between his legs. Desperately, he thought, ‘Do you really need me to provide you with a sense of security?! Am I not the person most likely to deprive you of your sense of security in this house?! I don’t want to give you complete security; I just want to give you complete @¥%& satisfaction!’

Bai Sheng’s heart burned with flames, his blood rushing downward. He wanted to take matters into his own hands, but he knew it would take too much time—time he didn’t have. He could only stand under the rushing cold water while playing the Great Compassion Mantra on his phone repeatedly. After streaming for twenty minutes, he finally managed to calm down slightly; although he still felt aroused, at least he wasn’t as fierce as before.

He turned off the shower, vigorously brushed back his damp hair with one hand, and took a deep breath.

Calling Yang Xiaodao back to knock himself out with a punch was no longer an option, but fortunately, there was one last resort.

Bai Sheng swung open the door and strode into the master bedroom. Under Shen Zhuo’s puzzled gaze, he opened the bedside drawer and pulled out two pairs of shiny handcuffs.

These weren’t the playful kind, but the real handcuffs from the supervision office, given by Chen Miao. Last time, when Shen Zhuo was incapacitated by toxins and couldn’t control himself, it was these handcuffs that helped him through several medication changes. Although looking back at those three nights, Bai Sheng couldn’t understand how he endured them. Was it because Shen Zhuo was injured so badly that his conscience kicked in? Or was his physiological impulse easier to control back then?

“Darling,” Bai Sheng held the two pairs of handcuffs and lay down with his hands raised, “Can you do me a favor?”

“?”

“Handcuff me to the bed, please. Thank you.”

Shen Zhuo: “…………”

Although not entirely clear-headed, Shen Zhuo was too proficient at handcuffing people. Therefore, the Chief Supervisor followed his deep-rooted instinct for work, and with ease, he clicked the handcuffs twice, securing Bai Sheng’s hands to the brass bed frame.

The light spread evenly across Bai Sheng’s bare upper body. His arms and fingers were slender, and every inch of muscle lines was vigorous and smooth, exuding a hidden strength and beauty.

Shen Zhuo supported his chin with one hand, propping himself up on the pillow, and gazed down at Bai Sheng for a moment, his beautiful lips curving slightly.

For a few seconds, Bai Sheng thought he might have been mistaken. Then suddenly, Shen Zhuo lowered his head slightly, stared at him up close, his thick eyelashes almost touching his nose, and softly chuckled:

“You’re really cute.”

As if offering a reward from a position of superiority, Shen Zhuo lowered his gaze and leaned closer.

In an instant, their bodies pressed together, and Bai Sheng felt a light kiss on his lips, cool and soft, fleeting.

Three seconds later.

Bang!!

The headboard collapsed with a loud crash, the entire bed frame crashing onto the carpet. Bai Sheng, with the broken handcuffs, rushed into the bathroom in a sorry state, his hair disheveled, his muscles tensed to the limit, and his veins roaring with excitement.

He likes me! He really likes me!!

Damn mutual affection! I don’t care if he’s willing or not. Tonight, I’ll make him cry all night long! Cry until dawn!!

Our wedding will be held around the world. Rong Qi will be the host, Yue Yang will sit at the head table, and Nielsen will give a speech. After dinner, everyone will go to Fu Chen’s grave and play an unforgettable song for the night. It’s decided!!

Bai Sheng, with an aura that could challenge gods and demons alike, rushed into the bedroom. With the last bit of reason, he picked up a thin chain from the headboard. The wedding rings on the pendant were already quite worn out. Then, with a thump, he dropped to one knee on the collapsed bed frame, his voice hoarse from restraining his desires: “Darling, my dear, I’ll buy the bridal chamber in your name. A dowry of one billion will be deposited into your account. Will you be willing to spend the rest of your life with me, growing old together… darling?”

Shen Zhuo rolled over, snuggling into Bai Sheng’s arms, murmuring, “Don’t make noise.” Then he contentedly rubbed against his abdominal muscles, his eyes closed, and his breathing steady.

He fell asleep.

Bai Sheng’s hand slackened, and the wedding rings clattered onto the bed.

In an instant, he felt as though a thousand arrows pierced his heart, with his soul roaring madly inside, on the verge of exploding. His only impulse was to erase his own thing with the law of causality.

The long night stretched on, the seconds ticking away until dawn.

The morning light filtered through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

On the collapsed big bed, Shen Zhuo yawned deeply. Then, half-dreaming and half-awake, expertly snuggled into Bai Sheng’s arms, just as he had countless times before, wanting to bury his face in the familiar scent of his neck.

But the next moment, his world spun as he was pressed down heavily. Bai Sheng ruthlessly pinned him down, pressing his entire body onto him, gripping his jaw with one hand, a voice bursting from between clenched teeth:

“Five times.”

Shen Zhuo’s long lashes were filled with drowsiness, his eyes holding a pool of water, along with a hint of confusion and innocence.

“I took five cold showers all night long.” Bai Sheng stared at his unconscious open lips, his mind filled with the desire to make those lips unable to produce any sound other than crying, his voice hoarse to the point of distortion: “Do you know how disruptive you are when you sleep at night?!”

“…”

Of course, Shen Zhuo had no idea.

Perhaps because he usually covered himself up tightly, refusing to expose even a sliver of skin, the Chief Supervisor underwent a 180-degree transformation after being drugged, becoming exceptionally eager for skin-to-skin contact. He hadn’t left Bai Sheng’s embrace all night, constantly touching and cuddling like a precious yet clingy hand-made doll.

Facing such questioning early in the morning, the culprit seemed quite disoriented. After pondering for a while, he suddenly felt @#¥*(&’ed, and rubbed against Bai Sheng uncomfortably.

Bai Sheng: “!!”

In an instant, it was as if fireworks and arrows were shooting all over the sky. Bai Sheng couldn’t handle it anymore. His right hand was tightly wrapped around Shen Zhuo’s waist, not letting him escape. His left hand forcibly grasped Shen Zhuo’s wrist, as he painfully uttered a few words through clenched teeth.

“I beg you, help me for a little while, just a little while, and I’ll take a cold shower myself later…”

Shen Zhuo: “?”

Shen Zhuo has always been a master who refuses to feed the great white shark. Not only does he not want to help, but he also immediately shows extreme resistance, struggling hard to escape in confusion, leaving four blood marks on Bai Sheng’s abdominal muscles.

The friction between their bodies only fueled the fire further. Bai Sheng’s eyes were filled with bloodshot veins as he quietly commanded, “Don’t move!” Then, he forcibly pinned Shen Zhuo beneath him, one hand gripping his constantly wriggling fingers, and impulsively, like a male wolf marking its territory, he leaned down and bit Shen Zhuo’s neck.

“—Ah!”

Shen Zhuo let out a short cry as he instinctively tilted his head back, tears quickly welling up in his eyes.

Bai Sheng was struck as if by lightning, immediately coming to his senses. “Don’t cry, don’t cry!”

With a clatter, Bai Sheng hurriedly rolled over to fetch water, disregarding his own unresolved, urgent issue. Half-kneeling on the bed, he embraced Shen Zhuo, comforting him gently. “It’s okay, it’s okay. Let me see. Does it hurt?”

It definitely hurt a little. Shen Zhuo tightly covered his neck, refusing to let Bai Sheng see. Bai Sheng, suppressing his anger, coaxed and comforted him for a while before Shen Zhuo reluctantly loosened his grip. Only then did Bai Sheng see the broken skin and the slight bleeding at the indentation of his collarbone, which stood out conspicuously against his translucent skin.

The skin of this person was really too thin. Even a slight touch left obvious marks. His own slender and firm waist now bore four distinct blood-red fingerprints, indicating that bruises would likely appear later.

“Look at you, what are you hiding for? Last night, when I tried to escape from the bed after your various frivolous actions and slept on the floor, why didn’t you hide?” Bai Sheng, feeling distressed, cautiously tried to touch Shen Zhuo, but the Chief Supervisor shot him a cold and intimidating glance. His eyes, displaying a fragile and teary light, clearly warned him not to move.

Bai Sheng wisely raised his hands in surrender, then pointed to his own neck and said, “My bad, I won’t touch. May this humble civilian volunteer have the honor of using his medical abilities to treat Inspector Shen’s wound. After the treatment, may I be allowed to receive a bite from Inspector Shen as punishment?”

“…”

Shen Zhuo pondered, staring at him, a bit uncertain whether it was punishment or reward.

Ding dong! Ding dong!

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Bai Sheng subconsciously thought it was Yang Xiaodao coming to inspect the adult mess early in the morning. However, when he glanced at the bedside remote control, the real-time surveillance showed the visitor outside was Chairman Bai.

Ding dong! Chairman Bai, holding a thermos, rang the doorbell twice more, looking puzzledly at the surveillance camera above.

In an instant, Bai Sheng remembered what he had forgotten—his uncle had agreed to come and see him this morning because:

“Nephew, I heard you passed out inexplicably while helping out at the supervision office a couple of days ago. You were unconscious for 24 hours? What exactly happened? Young people shouldn’t be reckless just because they’re healthy. You’re not staying up late playing games or skipping meals, are you? No, I have to come over and check on you!”

Bai Sheng gently pushed Shen Zhuo back onto the bed and made a silent gesture, “Be good; I’m going out to meet someone. I promise, I’ll be back in a minute. Just lie down here and wait for me, okay?”

“…”

Shen Zhuo frowned but remained silent, watching Bai Sheng with curiosity. Bai Sheng, feeling impatient, kissed him forcefully before quickly putting on loose sweatpants for cover and leaving the bedroom, closing the door behind him.

Ding dong! Ding dong! Ding dong!

Chairman Bai lowered his head to look at his watch and wondered why the door wasn’t being opened after such a long time. Just as he was puzzled, the door suddenly swung open, and he saw Bai Sheng, with a cheerful and lively expression, greet him warmly:

“Oh! Uncle! I’m sorry to trouble you to come over and bring soup when you’re so busy. I’ll treat you to dinner at the company another day. See you later!”

Chairman Bai had quick eyesight. He put his foot against the door and stared at his nephew with widened eyes, “You got yourself a girlfriend?!”

Bai Sheng casually replied, “No, where would I get a girlfriend? A guy like me is morally upright and virtuous…” At the same time, he followed the trembling index finger of Chairman Bai.

His sweatpants hung low on his hips, his upper body was bare, and four fresh scratch marks on his abdomen were not only very conspicuous but also very new.

They were from Shen Zhuo’s struggles just now.

Bai Sheng remained silent for a few seconds, then looked up at Chairman Bai and said solemnly, “Allergic urticaria. The sooner it’s treated, the sooner it heals. We mustn’t shy away from seeking medical treatment. I’ll go see a doctor this afternoon.”

“…” Chairman Bai asked incredulously, “Are you mocking me or mocking Urticaria?!”

“Oh, Uncle.” Bai Sheng wore a look of nonchalance, hooked his uncle’s neck, and forcibly led him toward the door, “Is this really such a big deal? Is there a problem with adults having a few harmless little scars? Honestly, I picked up a stray cat yesterday on the way home and haven’t had a chance to trim its nails yet. I’ll give that little cat a bath and take a couple of photos as proof for you…”

Click.

The bedroom door opened.

Shen Zhuo, wearing an ill-fitting loose T-shirt with a cold expression and slightly reddened eyelids, locked eyes with Bai Sheng, who had suddenly gone silent, his gaze filled with accusation, conveying a clear message.

One minute had passed, and it was time for him to come back.

Even in such an unconscious situation, Shen Zhuo, the chief supervisor of Shenhai City, was astonishingly beautiful. Apart from a somewhat tired complexion and slightly moist eyelashes, as if they had just shed tears, there was a trace of blood seeping from the bite mark below his slender neck, as if he had suffered some kind of abuse.

Through the open door, one could see the big bed in the bedroom collapse. The brass headboard was torn apart by tremendous force, with half a handcuff hanging conspicuously.

“…”

There was a deadly silence.

Chairman Bai’s trembling spread from his pupils to his hands and then to his whole body. In an instant, he seemed to see his own funeral, with the suona playing and a grand feast arranged, even deciding on the style of urn for the whole family, from the elders to the young ones.

“You… you…”

Chairman Bai turned to his beloved nephew, trembling in place for thirty seconds like he was having a stroke. His eyes rolled back, and with a thud, he fainted to the ground.
